This Privacy Policy explains in plain words which personal data we process when you use Dengi, why and how. Dengi was formerly called Dove. Our formal notice is the KVKK Privacy Notice; read them together.
In short: on Dengi an AI matchmaker talks with you and introduces you only to real, verified members. When it describes you to someone it never shares your surname, phone number, e-mail or precise location. We don't sell your data for advertising. The rules we learn to improve replies contain nobody's name or personal details.
How Dengi works
Dengi is a single chat. Men talk with Hikmet abi, women with Saadet abla. Both are AI, not real people (in this policy we call both "the matchmaker"). The matchmaker gets to know you by chatting, tells you about a real member who suits you, passes your answer to the other side and, if you both want to, introduces you so you can chat directly. Nobody can write to you directly; the matchmaker asks you first.
What we process
- Account: depending on how you sign in, your phone number (stored encrypted) or the e-mail address and name of your Google or Apple account, your gender and your date of birth.
- Profile details: the matchmaker asks for these in the chat and writes them to your profile; you can also correct them in My profile: your name, province and neighbourhood, job, what you're looking for (for example marriage, a serious relationship, meeting first and seeing), your deal-breakers and your first-date idea.
- About you and preferences: what you choose to tell or enter in Preferences (for example marital status, children, smoking, alcohol, sport, pets, education, work rhythm, height, whether you'd relocate) and what you look for in a partner (age range, distance, whom you'd like to meet, deal-breakers).
- Photos: the profile photos you send in the chat or add in My profile (up to 6).
- Chats with the matchmaker: your messages, the photos you send, your reactions to messages and the matchmaker's replies.
- Proposal and answer records: who was proposed to you, whom we proposed you to, your answers (yes, no, not sure), the other side's answer, introductions opened and closed.
- Messages with people you're introduced to: messages and reactions in the chat that opens after you both say yes (encrypted).
- Verification (blue tick): one frame from each selfie verification step, the result and the device integrity result. The selfie is never shown to anyone. No face template or faceprint is created.
- Behaviour signals: signals that come from reports, the automatic safety scan of introduction chats and real feedback from people you were introduced to. See "Behaviour signals".
- Feedback: how you react to one of the matchmaker's replies (for example saying "what a silly answer" or leaving 👎) and the short context of that reply. See "How the matchmaker learns".
- Usage: in-app events (for example which screen opened), notification preferences, reports and support messages.
- Device and security: device identifier, app version, notification permission, crash logs, install source and signals that help prevent fake accounts.
- Purchases: your membership (Dengi Plus / Gold), one-time purchases and remaining credits. Your card details never reach us; Google Play or the App Store takes the payment.
What we share when we describe you to someone
Dengi's job is to introduce you to a real person. To do that, the matchmaker describes you to a member it finds suitable with a short card. At the end of the getting-to-know-you chat the matchmaker sums up how it will describe you and asks whether it got you right. You can always see your card as others see it in My profile.
- On your card: your first name (never your surname), age, province and neighbourhood, the approximate distance between you, job, what you're looking for, your deal-breaker, your first-date idea, your photos, your blue tick, a short note the matchmaker writes from what you told it, real things you have in common (for example "You both want children") and, if any, anonymous positive feedback from people you were introduced to before (for example "very kind").
- Who sees it: only the people the matchmaker proposes you to. You don't appear in any open list, search or showcase.
- Never shown to any member: your surname, phone number, e-mail address, full date of birth, precise location, selfie frames, faith, marital status, children, height, behaviour signals and your chat with the matchmaker itself.
- How your answer is passed on: the matchmaker passes your answer on kindly but never changes its meaning: a yes goes as a yes, a no as a no. When you say no, no reason is made up.
- If you both say yes: a separate chat with that person opens in your Chats list. Phone numbers, usernames, links and addresses can't be shared there; you get to know each other on Dengi first.
- If you don't want your card shown to the people we propose you to, you can stop proposals with Pause mode or delete your account.
Chatting with the matchmaker
- You can talk with the matchmaker about anything. What you write is processed so it can reply, get to know you, find someone who suits you and give advice on what to write and on dates.
- The matchmaker writes what you tell it (for example "I live in Bornova") to your profile or preferences. If something is wrong, correct it in My profile or tell the matchmaker.
- The matchmaker never writes or sends messages to the person you're introduced to on your behalf, and it never buys anything. Its suggestions on what to write are only suggestions.
- Introduction chats are scanned automatically for safety (for example threats, harassment, early sexual innuendo, fraud, asking for money, sharing contact details, signs of being under age). When you complain, the matchmaker may check your complaint against that chat. When there is a report or a serious safety signal, authorised team members may review the relevant messages.
Behaviour signals
So that everyone feels safe, we derive some signals from what happens in introductions:
- Where they come from: a report from someone you were introduced to (for example "he keeps bringing up those topics"), the automatic safety scan of introduction chats and real feedback from people you met. One signal alone is never enough; a complaint is checked against the chat.
- What they do: they are not a punishment; they change who is proposed to whom. For example someone with an early-sexual-innuendo signal is not proposed for a while to people looking for marriage or a serious relationship. Serious signals such as asking for money put the account under review.
- Positive signals: signals like "kind" or "keeps their word" come only from real feedback and may appear anonymously on your card.
- Who sees them: no member ever sees negative signals. The person who complained is not told about the signal, and the person with the signal is not told who complained or what they wrote.
- How long they last: negative signals expire (usually after 30 days) and drop off when behaviour improves.
- If you think a signal about you is unfair, you can object via Settings → Support → Help → Write to us; a team member reviews your objection.
How the matchmaker learns
The matchmaker's replies improve over time. This is how:
- When you react badly to a reply (for example "what a silly answer" or 👎), the matchmaker never says that phrasing to you again. That reply and its short context are kept as a feedback record. Positive reactions such as ❤️ are recorded too.
- These records are kept pseudonymised and minimised: your name, phone number, e-mail and details that identify you are removed or masked before they are stored.
- When the same feedback comes from at least three different members, it can become a general style rule for all chats after a team member approves it (for example "don't give long answers to this kind of question").
- These rules contain nobody's name, personal details or anything that would identify them. Lessons can never override the matchmaker's rule that it never makes anyone up.
- Feedback records are kept for at most 90 days and then deleted. General rules that contain no personal data may be used indefinitely.
- Your chats are not used to train the AI service provider's own models.
- If you don't want your chats used this way, you can object via Settings → Support → Help → Write to us; after that your chats are not used to improve replies.
Automated assessment and matching
- Who is proposed to whom, in which order and how many proposals a day are decided automatically by comparing your profile details, preferences, deal-breakers (a strict filter for both sides), the distance between you (calculated from neighbourhood or province centres, no GPS), verification status and behaviour signals. This is an automated assessment.
- Only members with a blue tick (verified with a selfie) are introduced.
- The matchmaker understands your answer from what you write. If it isn't sure, it asks again; it never passes on a yes without a clear answer.
- If nobody suits you, the matchmaker says so; it never makes anyone up.
- Under KVKK art. 11 you can object to a result against you that arises exclusively from automated analysis of your data. If you want to reach a person, write to our support team via Settings → Support → Help → Write to us; a team member reviews your request.
Optional and special-category data
- We process selfie verification frames (biometric data) with your separate explicit consent.
- We store your faith only if you enter it yourself in Preferences and give explicit consent on the same screen. It is kept encrypted; it never appears on your card, is never sent to the matchmaker or the AI service provider, and the matchmaker never asks about it. You can delete it at any time; deleting it also withdraws your consent.
- You may share other special-category information in the chat, such as health or political views; you don't have to. It is processed as part of the chat to produce replies, but it is never written to your profile, never used for matching and never shown to other members.
- We never infer orientation, ethnicity, religion, health or attractiveness from your photos or what you write.
Why we use your data
- To open your account, verify your age (18+) and identity, and provide the service.
- So the matchmaker can chat with you, get to know you and build your profile.
- To find real members who suit you, describe you to them and them to you, pass on answers and open introductions.
- To give advice on what to write, first messages and dates.
- To notify you about real events such as a new candidate, an answer or a new message (manage notifications in Settings → Notifications).
- To improve the matchmaker's replies by learning from feedback.
- To prevent fake accounts, fraud and abuse, and to handle reports.
- To manage memberships, one-time purchases and remaining credits.
- To measure and improve the service and fix errors.
- To meet our legal obligations.
AI
- Hikmet abi and Saadet abla are AI. They say so in the first conversation and again whenever you ask. In the app, "AI" is always shown next to their names.
- The matchmaker proposes only real members. Every person it mentions, every answer and every piece of news such as "someone asked about you" is based on a real event. The matchmaker's messages are checked automatically against this rule before they are sent.
- The matchmaker's replies are produced through an AI service provider (located abroad). Your phone number, e-mail address, surname, precise location, faith and photos are never sent to this provider. Only the text and details needed for the chat are sent.
- Your photos are scanned automatically for inappropriate content on our own servers; they are not sent abroad for this.
Who we share data with
We don't sell or share your data for advertising. Other members only see what is described in "What we share when we describe you to someone". To provide the service we work with service providers bound by contract and acting only on our instructions:
- Cloud infrastructure and database (hosting),
- An AI service provider (located abroad),
- Sign-in and SMS verification (Google, Apple), notifications (Apple, Google), crash reporting and analytics,
- Subscription and purchase management (RevenueCat) and the app stores,
- Device integrity checks (Google Play Integrity, Apple App Attest).
Where the law requires it, we share data with the competent authorities only upon an official request.
Transfers abroad
Some of our service providers, including the AI service provider, are located abroad. These transfers are made under KVKK art. 9 by signing the standard contracts set by the Personal Data Protection Board and notifying the Authority, and where that is not possible on the basis of your explicit consent. Only the data needed for the service is transferred. Your phone number, e-mail address, surname, precise location, faith and photos are never sent to the AI service provider.
How long we keep data
- Profile details, preferences and photos: as long as your account is open. You can correct or delete them at any time in My profile and Preferences.
- Chats with the matchmaker: as long as your account is open, at most the last 12 months; older messages are deleted.
- Proposal and answer records: deleted or anonymised 180 days after the proposal or introduction closes. A limited record that only says "was proposed" is kept while your account is open so we don't propose the same person again.
- Messages with people you're introduced to: deleted 180 days after the chat closes; if they are the subject of a report, 2 years after the case closes.
- Behaviour signals: negative signals stop having any effect when they expire (usually after 30 days).
- Feedback records: at most 90 days. General rules derived from them contain no personal data.
- Selfie verification frames: until a moderator decides, at most 30 days.
- Purchase records: for the period required by law (financial records).
- When you delete your account: after a 30-day grace period your data is permanently deleted. Limited records needed to prevent abuse (for example an encrypted phone digest of a closed account) are kept only as long as necessary.
Security
Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest; sensitive fields such as your phone number, date of birth, faith and messages are encrypted separately. No profile detail beyond what is listed on your card is ever sent to a candidate (enforced on the server). Access is permission-based and sensitive access is logged. Our technical logs never contain message content.
Your rights
Under article 11 of the KVKK you have the right to access your data, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, withdraw consent, object to a result against you arising from automated analysis, and other rights. In the app:
- Settings → Account and sign-in → Download my data gives you a copy of your data.
- You can correct your profile details, photos and preferences in My profile and Preferences or by telling the matchmaker.
- Settings → Delete account deletes your account. You don't need to talk to the matchmaker for this.
- For any other request choose the "Personal data" topic in Settings → Support → Help → Write to us, or write to dengi@neuros.com.tr. We answer within 30 days at the latest.
Children
Dengi is for people aged 18 and over. Your date of birth is taken at sign-up and can't be changed later. We close accounts we learn belong to someone under 18 (including the age they told the matchmaker).
